I’ve taken on 4 new students over the last couple of weeks and things are going great, so I’ve decided to take on a few more.
I’m not into posting up my monthly results any more but I’m comfortable sharing my results from the $200nl that I played this month – mostly in the daytime when the higher games aren’t as juicy. I’m sure poker players can figure out the $$$ pretty quickly!
Following up from our first session last week, Matt sent me this cool email, I thought I’d share…
“Thanks for opening my eyes… I had no idea how much it would change just after one session… Soooo much easier… It’s like I’m playing a different game.”
Torrents are one of the best methods available right now to download mp3s, movies, books, etc from the web for free. So long as it’s not too obscure you should be able to find a torrent for whatever you want. (Read More »)
I returned from vacation a couple of weeks ago and have been reluctant to get back into my workout routine, instead opting to take some time out to focus on work. Really this was just an excuse for me being too lazy to haul my ass over to the gym (which is just 2 blocks from my apartment).
Within 15mins of busting my ass at the gym today I was blown away at how good I felt. Genuinely happy, confident, focussed, positive, motivated (Read More »)
I frequently get asked for cool things to do in Vegas and I know a ton of you guys over there for the WSOP right now so here’s the master-list of my favourite stuff to hit in Las Vegas… (Read More »)
Daily goal setting is working out so much better than weekly/monthly, I’ll post about this soon. So this month… no strict goals but lots of strict daily goals.
June Outline
As much poker volume as possible – aiming for 60k hands. Play as much mid-stakes as I can and shot take as much as possible at high-stakes. A ton of focus on early starts, healthy cooking and 5-days a week working out to balance and support the high workload. Structure things so I get at least all Friday nights and Saturdays off to rock out.
There are a few habits I’d like to cement too: (Read More »)
I’ve been watching a lot of the NBA/NHL playoffs recently… the commentators talk a lot about momentum and the importance of winning the first game (the team that wins the first game will win the series over 80% of the time). A losing team with their heads down are much less likely to win than the team who are dominating and confident.
As a poker player it’s important not to allow this type of negative momentum to exist.
How negative momentum occurs
I’d argue that almost no-one is able to continue playing their A-game while on a downswing. As things continue to go badly we often make mistakes due to (Read More »)
Poker is really crushing my soul right now, time for a break… will be road-tripping around Florida for the rest of the week. Ft Lauderdale, Key West, Everglades and Miami all getting hit up.
When I get back… a week of extreme poker volume, impressing people with my epic tan, setting new goals at the gym and a bunch of articles planned including:
Why daily goal setting rocks
The right way to gamble in Vegas
Why we leave things to the last minute
What is ‘the zone’?
10 reasons to hit the gym
Feedback, not failure
Oh and if you get the title reference (without using google, jerkface) you win the prize.
